Branding a student-run benefit concert.

I was responsible for designing promotional materials for a mental health benefit concert. Voices for Hope is a student-run benefit concert with high school performers and local speakers that addresses and raises money for teen mental health, especially as a result of the pandemic.

Posters

I created two poster designs to encourage attendance to the event. The poster on the left was more formal, with the goal of advertising towards parents and teachers, while the poster on the right was targeted towards students, advertising the event as a fun concert rather than a lecture series. Both utlilized spotlight imagery and the same color palette to maintain cohesion across the branding.

To further legitimize the event and help promote it, I designed sweatshirts for the Voices for Hope team to wear around school leading up to and during the event.

Early Explorations

I created more refined out concepts and color palettes in Procreate and then brought them into Adobe Illustrator. The initial ideas were very type heavy but didn’t convey the event, so by the third iteration on the right I added the spotlight imagery to make the poster more indicative of a concert. I also eventually adjusted the hierarchy of the text, deemphasizing the date.
